Ford F-350 XLT 6.0L 4x4

Here's the upgraded truck from the 1995 F-250.  This is a 2007 Ford F-350 XLT 4x4 6.0 Diesel.  Yep, I heard all the horror stories on this engine...It didn't scare me.  It only has 75000 Miles & 1800 Hours on it!

We've had an opportunity to upgrade the truck so when I found this particular truck we bought it.  It may seem wild that our 1994 Non Slide-in truck camper would push this F-350 but some weighing shows It's pushing close to the 13,000 GVWR of the truck rating when fully loaded.  Hitch extensions, Front hitch, generator, Airbags, Full of Water & Fuel, etc. add up the weight quick!

Anyways,  This time I tried to set out to be regularly Under GVWR but I'm no Weight Police.  Our 1995 F-250 was regularly over GVWR by 300 lbs w/ no ill effects.  It's a hard game to play "match a camper" with all the Dry weight stickers thrown out.  It's no wonder some are overloaded.  Ever talked to a dealer?

It still takes some facts so I will get a weight slip to put here on this page.  At the end of the day the added weight for the bigger Lance 990, & safety was the basis for my decision on a dually.

Here's a Short List of Items I've done to get it ready for the Slide-in Truck Camper:

TorkLift Super Hitch, 48" Towing Extension, Fast Gun Tie Downs.  Air Lift 88398 LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Spring Kit with Internal Jounce Bumper & 74000 Wireless Air Controller. (Not Shown)  Also, Front Hitch Install to carry Generator on Hitch Tray.  Plastic Mud Flaps on all 4 wheels.

Flushed Coolant & replaced w/Peak Final Charge Global OAT (Red Lid).  Not the Pink lidded Peak bottles pictured above.  I just used those old bottles for recycling the flushed coolant.

Rancho RS9000 Adjustable Shocks.  These are turned up to 9.  I don't have these shocks on the front yet.

I Change Transmission (External) filter that the Ford Dealer couldn't get loose.  They did a Trans Flush w/Heated tool.  I had them use the LV (Low Viscosity) & not the SP that it originally called for.

To top it all off was an oil change.  5w-40 FS Rotella & Fram TG9549 w/New Oil Filter Cap (Motorcraft EC-781).  Wrong or Right... I searched around on various oil filters for the 6.0L & I feel Fram does a descent job on their filters.  This filter has a Internal Support system that is not found on other filters.  Which may describe why Fram doesn't make an Ultra (wire backed) for the 6.0L.  We have choices w/our machines & oil/filters are no different... Isn't that fantastic?!  I also put on a Fumoto F-111 Valve on the Oil pan drain to make changes a little easier.  I'll stick to a 5-6k mil drain schedule.
