Atwood 80488,80412,80491,80417 Truck Camper Jacks Maintenance

If your jacks look like the ones Below then you're already aware there is not much you can do to replace or repair them.  Atwood sold to another company & the new company had no interest in keeping the Atwood jack line going.  Unfortunately, We have 2 of these switched & 2 Non-Switched Jacks that, originally, was installed on our 1994 Lance 990.  However,  I'm going to try & do what I can here with these jacks & give some direction on what you can do if all else fails.

After loosening the 4 screws that hold the motor shroud on this motor appears.  I searched the 52210 number first & came up with a bearing.  I think it's the part number for the main bearing inside the motor.  The rest of the numbers, other than the date of 94', I'm not so sure of.

Removing the Motor from the Jack Leg
Gearing was bone dry.  No grease & plenty of dirt!
The Motor was really dry also.  I grabbed my High Tempurature Grease & slopped it on real good.
New & Old Switch.  When I put the wire connectors onto the back again they both snapped off the connector.  So, I had to go to Amazon & get 2 switches.  Heads up...These new switches will not fit into the plastic jack housing so I had to make another box for them BUT it serves another purpose too!  More below.
Notice the Connection missing?
I just put the old switches back into the old housing to keep debris out.  This box will serve you well in that if you make some brackets for the rear you can use Rieco-Titan.  If you already have their brand EZ swing-out dually brackets they will bolt right up.  But you'll need to make a simple switch box like you did on the back too.  Just a simple waterproof molded electrical box & 1/2" electric conduit clamp.
Used the old wiring that came out the camper into the switches.
